swagbucks earns me at least $40 each month, and much of it is pretty much passive!

|

Swagbucks

I've learned how to passively earn about a dollar per day using [ Swagbucks ]. It might not seem like a lot, but $40 extra dollars a month for doing almost nothing sounds pretty good to me.

Click for larger image

There are a few requirements, naturally. You need to have access to wifi, OR you need to have unlimited data. And you need a smartphone. currently iPhones can only get ~$0.60 per day, while androids can get ~$0.80. The phone doesn't have to be connected to a cell company. The android phone that I'm using cost me $30 at walmart, and is NOT set up for dialing calls. It is an EXTRA phone. This extra phone is NOT a requirement, but it sure makes it easier. It only exists to connect to the internet. It cost me $30, and it makes me $40 each month. If you eventually want to use your earnings to buy an extra phone to make it even easier, please do some research to make sure the phone you buy will actually be able to use the apps. I want you to succeed!

It paid for itself. I'm thinking of getting another phone because I found another site that I can do a similar thing with... but I digress.

The first thing you should do is set up your swagbucks account - something you might probably want to do on the computer, not the smartphone.

[ click here to open a new window to Swagbucks - do it now! ]

You'll get an email to confirm your email address. You'll log into the swagbucks account, and fill out a profile - they'll ask you demographics, and reward you for doing it. After you get the account set up, take the little tour and they'll reward you for that too.

NOW is when you get the phone involved. There are six mobile apps that will reward you with swagbucks for viewing videos.

The trick is to find the shortest video, and Favorite the video. Then when you go to watch a video on one of the apps, instead of choosing a video from the first screen, hit the top left to go to the menu, click favorites, and click on the video you favorite'd. Now, instead of scrolling through and playing every video, some of which are quite long, your app will only play the short video in your favorite.

What does this mean? Well, in one of the apps right now, (SBTV - H&G) there is an 8 second video. When your app plays the video 5 times (40 seconds, plus load time and the possibility of an ad playing) you will get 2 swagbucks. Two points might not seem like a lot, but it took less than a minute to get them, and you don't need to push anything, because we want to be as passive as possible.

The apps for viewing these videos are as follows:

So you can earn 60 points daily without having to touch your phone, except to start each program, and to double check every now and then to make sure it didn't run into a slight problem, such as not finding a signal for a minute or whatever.

But there's also the daily goal! Each day, there are two goals set for you. As an example, if your first goal is 35, and you earn at least 35 points that day, you've reached the goal. You'll get roughly 10% of that as a bonus [ by the sixth day of the following month] and there is a second, larger goal with a larger bonus. Additionally, if you attain the first goal 7 days in a row, you'll get an extra bonus of 25sb. If you do it 14 days, you'll get a bonus of 100sb, etc.. So you can get an additional 500 to 900 points each month in bonuses, too!

There are many other things to do within the site to earn, if you're not just the passive type. But probably the easiest is the swagcode. It's a small bit of text, a code, that will earn you a few extra swagbucks points. It's not always easy to know when there is a code though, but one way that might help you with that, is if you were to install the [ swagbucks app ] - it will send you alerts when there are active swagcodes. Each code only lasts about an hour, but they're few and far between and generally average around 2-4 points each, so even if you don't get them, it's not a huge loss.

There are a few apps that you'd want to install on the phone to keep the phone running smoothly. [ DU Battery Saver ] is excellent for optimization, cleaning out the cache, etc..

Survey Sites, good experiences

I just wanted to post which sites I've had good experiences with.

PaidViewPoint is a fantastic site that has tiny surveys, and is quite possibly the most fun, and least boring site I've ever seen!  I definitely enjoy this one and recommend it heavily.

Survey Savvy is a favorite of mine.  They are upfront about how much a survey pays, and product tests are some of my favorite of their surveys.  I get about 3 invites from them each month.

Focus Forward sends a few decent surveys every now and then, invites you to join unique communities for easy gifts, and sometimes sets up focus groups that pay decent money.

MindField Online will email you periodically, sending you a combination of surveys and focus group invites, as well as a few product tests.

Socratic Forum doesn't bombard you with too many invites -- I get like 2 a month.  I don't always qualify, but that's just me.  Each survey pays $3, and they aren't difficult to fill out.

FGI Research doesn't bombard you either, and are decent surveys too

ePoll is decent, easy, and fairly fast.  They also don't bombard you with emails.

Bzzagent is cool and offers frequent product tests

Smiley360 is another cool one that offers product tests

20/20 might be hard to qualify for, but the surveys are short to find out if you qualify, and if you DO qualify, they pay quite handsomely.

Advisory Panel consist of short, quick surveys, usually only like 4 or 5 pages long.

Amplitude is a decent website as well; they don't bombard you with surveys that pay only pennies.

Brand Institute is another that has quick surveys that pay ok

eSearch only sends out like one survey a month, but they pay ok, and are usually quite easy

Market Reader Pro is cool, easy, and doesn't email you.  or at least, they haven't emailed me any surveys -- you need to visit them like once or twice a month, and do their simple surveys.  I definitely consider them to be worth my time.

McCormick is the company that makes those spices and stuff.  They want to send you products to taste test!

Pinecone Research isn't always accepting new members, but you can check [THIS PAGE] to see if they are. The surveys are easy, and often end up with you getting a product test.  Also, each survey pays $3.

A Little Time Each Day on some Paying Websites

  1. CrowdTap takes like 2 minutes or so each time you get new 'quickhits'.  It's basically a couple of  'one question surveys' and is a complete piece of cake!  I am quickly beginning to think of this as my favorite site.

Every now and then you are asked to join a group/action.  In these, companies like Toyota, American Eagle Outfitters, etc.. will ask you for a little input.  Just answer thoughtfully and you get like 100 points per question.  Reply (daily per group/action) to another person's comment for 25 points.  Randomly win 1000 points for giving input (like 4% chance, which I've gotten twice).  When the action/group ends, 10 people get like 5000 bonus points and a few get additional points up to 15,000.  With 20,000 points being a $10 amazon gift card, thoughtful answers can add up quick.

  2. Hits 4 Pay and Deals N Cash are two different websites that function almost identically, and both take less than 3 minutes each, usually.

It's easy to set up a profile on these two websites, and when you do, there will be an 'interests checklist' where you need to check off 15 of the categories.  This will allow them to 'choose' which ads to send you.  About 3 times a week, I get an email telling me I have new ads to watch.

When you go to the ads page, don't click on the ad just yet!  Hold the mouse over the word [NEXT AD] and right click, and open in new tab.  Go to the new tab and repeat until you have about 5 tabs open.  ONLY THEN do you go to each tab and click the ad.

I always have my sound off, because several of the ads have sound.. and when you have multiple tabs for their ads, the time you spend on the site is very small.

  3. SwagBucks, iRazoo, Gift Hulk, and ZoomBucks are four sites that work in similar manners, and all can be done in a combined 10 minutes or less.  InstaGiftCard is a fifth GPT, where I spend most of my time, because the rewards are instant.

+ With swagbucks, you would go in and do the daily poll.  2 seconds.  Then go to the 'earn' area and click the NOSO tab.  With each one, let the page load then choose 'skip' if you don't want to sign up.  After a few, you'll 'win' swagbucks.  Then go to the search area (I modified my browser toolbar to use swagbucks search instead of google) if you don't want to download the swagbucks toolbar and do a search for anything.  When the results come up, click images.  Then click video.  Then images, then web.  Change your search, rinse repeat, til you 'win'.

I think you can win like every 8-12 hours.  While 700 Swagbucks is $5 through paypal, a mere 450 Swagbucks is a $5 amazon gift card.  Amazon gift cards never expire and they sell a LOT of stuff there, so what the hell, why not?  You can do other things on the site for additional swagbucks, as well.

+ With iRazoo, you hover over the 'earn points' and click [offers].  This will give you 5 points.  Then you hover over 'earn points' and click search.  In the box right below the search, look to see if there is a [TREASURE CODE] which is good for an unspecified amount of points when you hover over 'earn points' and choose treasure code.

Go back to search and do searches the same way as you did with swagbucks, til you win points.  I think you can only win this once every 8 hours or so.  3000 points will get you an Amazon.com $5 gift card.  You can do other things on the site for additional points, as well.

+ With Gift Hulk, you go to the daily poll and answer that.  Go to the treasure keys and try your luck.  Go to search, and do the same as you did with swagbucks.  If you keep an eye on their facebook page, sometimes they send out a 'fountain of youth' code, which is good for bonus points, but those usually only are active for an hour or so, or the first 2000 people or whatever.  Again, $5 amazon is cheaper than $5 paypal.  You can do other things on the site for additional points as well.

+ With Zoom Bucks go to the offers area and at the bottom, you'll win a ZB (zoombuck).  Go to search, and do as you did with swagbucks.  Then go to the ZD Daily under 'win zoombucks' to see if you randomly win just by opening the page -- I think you win every two or three days.  And you can do other things on the site for additional points as well.

  4. Minds Pay, Shopping Jobs, Vindale  and Panda Research are 4 websites that after figuring out how to use them, really aren't that bad at all, and take about 10 minutes combined.

All of them function almost identically.  They send you daily emails of what they call 'surveys'.  But they are actually "sign up offers'.  What is a signup offer?  Basically you sign up to receive emails or a service and you'll get credit for doing so.  I decline 99% of them.  Some require a credit card, which I never do those, while others are easier, like getting auto insurance quotes, or having an online school call you to talk about their programs.

But lets get back to the daily emails.  Opening them gives you a few cents credit to their respective website.  When you open them and click through to 'view' the offer, and stay on the offer page for a few moments, you'll get another email worth more money for opening.  Opening that one gives you a third that is worth more.  In this fashion, you can make money on the sites without doing the offers.

HOWEVER, you must reach $50 to cash out from each site, and only a maximum of $25 of that $50 can come from reading the emails.  Because of this, at first I thought the websites were nothing but spam and all that, BUT, I stuck through it, and got paid through 1 so far, and am close to payment from the other two.  ( Image of Paypal Payment Proof )
  5. MyPoints takes a minute or two a day for the bare minimum.  Read the emails and click through, to win bonus points.  They email out surveys too, but I only do those if they are for more than 200 points, and even then, quite rarely, since I am trying to spend minimum time.

You can also make purchases through the website to get discounts on stuff, and get bonus points for doing so.  Like I recently bought a gold pack movie ticket package for AMC theatres with two tickets, two drinks, and a popcorn for $30, which is almost the bare price for two tickets alone at the theatre itself!  They have a wide range of payment rewards but I like amazon.com gift cards the best.  3950 points gives you a $25 gift card.  (about 158 points per $1)

Crowd Tap! Influence the Brands you buy from!

Girls125x125

Crowd Tap

Seriously easy.

Short questions. Answer as many or as little as you want.

Literally, you can spend like 2 seconds on this site a day, and get a vote in. Each vote is worth a set amount of points, and when you get to a high enough level, they may send you samples of new products before they are released. Also, some of the questions or participations will pay you.

I got paid $1 for writing "I don't really listen to music." when such an opportunity came up.

So what is it? Well, it's set up like a social site, and seems to be designed to make it easy for mass opinions to be collected and grouped. What does this mean to you? Maybe nothing. Maybe you really ARE the only person that likes the idea of corn flakes with dried tomatoes. Or, maybe someone is out there that will see that a lot of people like a certain thing, and will try to produce it. Who knows?

Do You Do Online Surveys? This Site Pays Daily.

[Daily Survey Panel]

You only need 200 points to request a payout to paypal. 200 points is $1. You can do several surveys a day, if you want. Surveys award 100-200 points on average, and their values are listed before you take them.

I did one survey a day from November 7 to November 11, and was able to complete 4 of them. I CHOSE not to do more than that. So for 15 minutes a day, I got a few easy dollars.

Quickrewards is another one that pays REALLY fast. You can do multiple surveys, sign up for offers, etc.. but the best thing about them is you can request a paypal payout for as little as a penny, and it's usually paid within 24 hours!

CashCrate - Is it a scam? Or do they really pay?

I joined this site with similar functions to [InboxDollars] -- The site I joined was [CashCrate] - have been around for about 5 years now, from what I understand.

What is it? Well, its got similar goals to InboxDollars. That is, they ask you to do a variety of functions, for which you will be paid. [CashCrate] has offers, where you go to another website and subscribe, buy a service or a trial to a service, or complete a 'quiz' in exchange for money and points. The 'quizzes' are designed to get you to sign up to other sites, email lists, etc.

[CashCrate] also has several surveys that can be completed each day. As of this moment, I have 9 available [daily] surveys that I could take, worth about $6.50 total. I most likely would not qualify for each one, but each one will give you multiple chances before they've seen enough of you for the day. I only try a few each day because it's not like I have all day to be on their site. So if I qualify, great, if not, oh well. Don't let it frustrate you.

You can also shop through their site to other websites like walmart.com for example, and get a percentage of your purchase as cash back in your account. This is something offered in many of these types of sites.

Then there are the videos. When you go to that section, you answr a short 3 question quiz, and then you can watch a video commercial or two. During the commercial you'll see a few numbers slide across the screen and back. You'll enter those numbers at the end to show that you watched the video, and you'll get about 4-5 cents. It might not be a lot, but it adds to the total.

You do NOT get 'paid emails' from [CashCrate] But there is a 'check in' system that will give you 3 cents every time you check in. It will also ask you to participate in an offer.

[CashCrate] also has another system of rewards. Points. You can get a point per cash offer you complete, and you can also do offers for points instead of cash. Same with surveys -- there is a whole area where you focus on points instead of cash. What are the points good for? Well, 4000 will get you a Wii, 1000 will get you $50 Victoria Secret Giftcard, and 250 will get you an Amazon gift card. There are many more prizes listed currently, in addition to the ones I've mentioned.

They have contests, and a forum. The forum is a messageboard center where you can chat with other members, or possibly post questions about games, payments, etc. Speaking of that, you get paid around the 20th of the month after you have passed the threshold of $20.

WooHoo! Swagbucks paid me $10 for last week!

So, I talked about [swagbucks] last friday, and I'm not sure if anyone tried it out, but today I got paid $10 for my payout request last week. It took maybe about 8 days to rack up the points, but it was so easy -- all I do is use the [swagbucks] search bar instead of my own. It randomly awards swagbucks, and you only need like 1300 to get $10.

You can get swagbucks several times a day, and all just by doing the searches you were already going to do. I don't even go to [swagbucks.com] to do the search, to be honest -- I actually set up my browser (Google Chrome -- [click here to see how I did it!]) to use [swagbucks search] as the search engine for the address bar.

Inbox Dollars - a 'get paid to' website

So the first 'paying' website I joined was Inbox Dollars and so far it has been ok. Right now, I spend about half an hour on the site daily, and not usually all at once.

Have I gotten paid? No, not yet. But I did submit for my first check. They don't do paypal. However, what they do to make sure you stay a little active is they wait a few weeks before mailing it. Specifically they cut the check on the first of the month after the next month. So Yesterday I requested a check for $34 and they are mailing it out on December 1st.

There are a lot of things that you can do on Inbox Dollars.

You can print out coupons from their coupon tab, and it will give you $0.10 for each coupon you redeem. And from the shopping tab, you can get a bit of your purchase back from select retailers, which include walmart.com, target.com, kmart.com, kohls.com, drugstore.com, etc.. so if you were going to buy stuff on those websites anyway, you may as well use those links.

Then, they have the 'cash offers' and 'free offers' area. In here, you can be awarded for starting, and going through and finishing various offers. They range from checking your credit to doing simple surveys. HOWEVER, whenever they ask for a phone number, I always look EVERYwhere to see if i am agreeing to a phone text alert subscription of like $9.99 a month or something. It's not from Inbox Dollars, it's from whatever site is asking your number. There are also some things in there that you can get paid for downloading.. which understandably can make some people nervous. You may have up-to-date antivirus and antimalware, and they may not even be necessary but it is your computer we're talking here, and you decide if you will download a program or not.

Which brings me to the next thing. I downloaded the toolbar. Yes, yes, I know.. it might be tracking where I go, etc.. blah blah blah. I just figure that since I'm getting tracked anyway, go ahead and let Inbox Dollars know where I'm going, if they are even tracing me. Actually, we're all being tracked anyway, in some shape or form, so I see no big deal, but that's just me. Anyway, Inbox Dollars gives you a dollar for downloading and using it. I don't use IE all that much, and also rarely use firefox, but you can download a toolbar for either. When I do use IE, I make sure to do a search with their toolbar, and I click a link for the hell of it. I do not know if you need to click a link for it to register, but what the hell, why not?

Inbox Dollars sends you two types of emails. Some of these are surveys, and it will tell you how much they are worth if you qualify. When I don't qualify, I click 'no thanks' on the following screen, because I don't know how much the next survey they may find would be worth, and I might have just spent ten minutes getting disqualified, and I might need a break from rejection. The other type of mail they send is called a 'paid email' which will give you $0.02 for reading it, and they attempt to market/target free or paid offers based on information in your profile or something.

Aside from the surveys that you get in your email, you can also click the survey tab, and you can do one survey in each of the three slots to get $0.50, totaling to $1.50 in a possible half hour. Of course, more than half the time, I get disqualified from a survey, and I never try to do more than two in a row, because I cannot take so much rejection. ::sigh::

You can also watch videos on Inbox Dollars - like two each day, but you need to be careful! You need to watch like this 30 second commercial, and sometimes I don't even notice the numbers moving on the screen. See, to make sure you're watching and not off eating tacos in the kitchen, you will see a number flash by the commercial twice, and at the end, enter those numbers to get your pennies.

There is a tab for education, I guess they give your info to online schools or something, I dunno. There is also a tab for 'cash tasks' which I do not know much about. I will go back and look at it, but the first time I tried it, it seemed to be a little confusing. I think you pretty much give results that show how you think and react when you use a search site like google.

Then there is a tab for games. I am not big on games. I tried it, I played family feud and bejeweled, but I do not understand the point, other than to either waste time, or to provide income for the website if you use cash to buy and lose. It says you can win money as well.

Then there are sweepstakes. I never honestly read into those. If you watch a video and get credit, it puts you into a sweepstakes. If you refer someone to the site, it gives you an entry. And if you fail to complete a survey, you get an entry. The prizes are listed in the tab.

So yea, Inbox Dollars certainly has a lot of things to do within their site, and has been around for a pretty decent amount of time. My daily actions on the site are literally looking at the two emails they send me, attempting their survey, and then leaving the site. Later on I come back and attempt the three surveys in the main tab on the website while I'm doing things in other tabs. It's fairly simple, and doesn't claim too much of my time at all.

Update! As of 3:00pm on 10/13/2011 my balance is $31.56, which not only is the same consistent rate as the last $26, but averages to almost $400 over the course of a year.

$400, ONE website.
